Adidas 80s Primeknit Superstar – Lush Red

Adidas 80s Primeknit Superstar – Lush Red

The adidas Superstar will go down as one of the most iconic sneakers that has stood the test of time much like Nike’s Air Max 1. That doesn’t mean that adidas is done with the shell toed shoe. Last summer adidas brought back the Superstar in a popular rainbow pack in collaboration with Pharrell but they also brought it back with primeknit. The combination of classic style and new technology was a hit and sold out quickly.

The latest Primeknit Superstar keeps most of the features of last summers release with a few small changes. The regular tongue has been swapped for a bootie fit tongue giving the shoe a slimmer more modern look. The heel design is slightly different and sports a pull tab as well to help cram your foot into the smaller bootie opening. The last change is the addition of the product number along the tongue that reads S75427, this has become a popular habit for adidas as of late. The iconic midsole and shell toe remained untouched but could we see caged boost eventually?

I love the updated look of this shoe and it looks especially sharp in lush red. As of right now there is no stateside release slatted but if you can’t wait there are still pairs available at places like Foot District.
